Brewed in the tradition of English-style barley wines, Cereal Killer offers an explosion of full-bodied, liquid goodness. Robust malty flavors converge with caramel, toffee, molasses and dark fruit notes to produce a remarkably complex and palate-pleasing beer. Its intense malt character is complemented by a subtle citrus finish from the Crystal hops. With cellar-aging, Cereal Killer’s
flavor evolves further, developing a sherry-like aroma and flavor similar to a cask-aged port. Winner of the Silver Medal for Barley Wine Style Ale at
the 2007 GABF.

Wow, this was a sickly sweet syrupy mess. Loads of sweet, saccrine, grainy malts. No hops tombe found except for the copious amounts of astringent bitterness in the finish. I really did not enjoy this.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is ripe fruits with a welcome touch of hops, malt, caramel, toffee, berries, some mild syrup. Flavour is pretty sweet with a solid hoppy bitterness. Body is medium to full. Nice Barley Wine, ripe fruits rather than dried fruits with a touch of hops and appropriate caramel malts.

Bottle. Amber pour. Aroma of sticky caramelised malt, raisin, bitter pine, baked orange and grapefruit. Taste has sticky raisin, caramelised malt, bitter piney hop, orange, port-like ripened malt and a little yeast. Nice old school bitter barley wine, some age did it well I think.

Vintage 2012. 12 oz. bottle, pours a murky dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel, bready toffee, and subdued resinous hops. Flavour is very malty and somewhat boozy, with bready toffee, caramel, some dark fruits, and subdued hops. Very malty and fruity, very old school. Pretty solid, but unremarkable, old barley wine.

Amber, with a little bit of haze. There's actually a fair bit of jammy fruit, and some piney hops. Tastes a bit old, maybe a bit flat. Touch of jammy notes, a bit harsh but maybe the bitterness has mellowed. Not great, old school, aged okay but just okay.
