Bottle from Lidl. Clear amber body with an off-white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of soggy biscuit, dirt, pear and prune. Flavour of honey, tinned pears and syrup. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Not very nice, and definitely not a DIPA.

Bottle at home. It pours clear rich mahogany brown with a small foamy cap. The aroma is sweet, oily, malt loaf, syrupy, fruit cake, wood and resin. The taste is drying, rather bitter, resinous, sticky, spicy, warming alcohol, rawness, wood, earth and varnish with a spicy, hot finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Much more of a strong ale than a double IPA. Not too shabby for what it is.
