Brouwer Patrick Breugem vroeg de mannen van Zaanse Sambal of zij een idee hadden met peper in bier. Nou, dat was niet tegen dovemansoren gezegd.. het resultaat mag er zijn! De Stout is eerst als kleine batch gebrouwen maar na het winnen van goud op de Dutch Beer Challenge 2018 hebben we er maar wat meer van gebrouwen ;-)

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout, chocolade en peper. De smaak is vol, chocolade, toffee en een zacht pepertje.

Bottle, black beer, small head. Aroma is roast, coffee, malt, light sweet. Taste is the same, bitter, sweet, not much spice. Nice

Fles 33cl thuis. Koffiedrab, chocolade, redelijk vol, bitter, pepertje is merkbaar maar niet overheersend, roasted malts, droog, klein zoetje. (15-2-2021).

Black with creamy head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of roasted malts and a hint of dark chocolate. I don't get any heat but it a good beer nonetheless.

Black with lightly brown foam. Smell has a hint of chilli in there. Decent mouthfeel, some good carbonation. Taste is medium sweet, but with a nice and roasty bitterness underneath. Reasonably subtle spicy kick. Milky chocolate. Enjoyable!

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 14 Feb 2019) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and black rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, black rye bread and a balanced cacao bitterness. Tasty and well balanced stout. Nice one.

Zwart bier met mooi bruin schuim. Smaak is bitter, romig en licht zoet met iets van chocolade, koffie en heel vaag pepertje in de afdronk.

Bottled 330ml. -from De Bierkoning Amsterdam. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, mild chili and caramel in the nose. Light roasted malt, caramel, some chocolate subdued chili and mild notes of spices in the finish. No trace of 8.0%
