A take on IPA like rio other! Deep gold, with crazy tropical fruit aromas from the combination of the experimental hop BRU-i and the kettle souring process.

Ever so slightly hazy copper and golden coloured body with an orange glow and a three centimetre tall head that fades fast. Aroma of funk, sour grapes, earth and a bit of a nice brett and lactic sweetness and sour quality throughout - nice and mouthwatering. Light to perhaps Medium-bodied; Grassy flavour at first that fades immediately to a funky yeast, grassy and largely soured flavour with a lot of yeastie funk and complex esters throughout, but a nice grass and hay flavour noticeable along with some tropical fruits and their sweetness, along with a touch of fresh hops near the end showing the light IPA side of things. Aftertaste is definitely more keen on the soured and grassy/funky qualities than on the hops or bitterness, but some sugars also come through as well near the end. Overall, an interesting beer that isn’t organized and executed the best, but shows some sour qualities, even if they may be a bit ’put on’, but shows some bitterness from the hops, as promised, just not as effectively or gracefully as I’ve seen before, but still, nice to try, at least, locally! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wine, Cheese & More in Chincoteague, Virginia on 28-May-2017 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 26-August-2017.

Lots of acidic citrus here and not a lot else. Doesn’t exactly have a lot of depth like the Pacific. Just sour for the sake of it. Bottle from mixed pack.

12oz bottle from mix pack. Poured a mostly clear golden orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light sweet malts, biscuit, some lemon notes - not really tart - most like lemon juice tartness. Flavor was lemon zest, sweetness. Kind of refreshing.
