Carrot Cake Imperial Amber Ale is made with hundreds of pounds of freshly grated carrots. Spice notes of cinnamon, all spice, cardamon, clove and vanilla compliment the fresh carrot flavor. Five specialty malts, American grown hops and our house American Ale Yeast meld with the carrot cake flavor we all know and love.

Cannned. Maroon brown pour, whiteish head. Spicy caky aroma, pumpkin and cinnamon. Malty as heck. Pretty much what it says it is.

Sampled at Spacebar pours a dark orange with some tight, white head. Nose has a ton of spice, like a sweet potato pie, cinnamon and clove and all spice, some caramel, caramelized root vegetables too. Flavor is toffee, root veg, spice, cinnamon, a little cakey. Full bodied and a bit boozy. Not my thing, would have likely been better at 5% or 6%.

Bought a bottle, probably from Beer Run when I was in Charlottesville a few weeks ago. Poured a amber color with a fluffy, slightly off-white head. Aroma was light spices, caramel notes, earthy hops. Light toffee, caramel notes. Not really capturing the carrot notes, at least not compared to the Jailbreak carrot beer I’ve had. It’s okay. Alcohol was masked well.

$12.99 Bomber from Wine Warehouse. I’m not a sweets person but I can never pass up a slice of pumpkin pie or carrot cake. Apparently I can’t pass up a carrot cake beer either. Pours hazy brown with a soft creamy off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon, clove, vanilla, chai. Smells somewhat like a sweet carrot cake. Flavor is also very similar to the aroma, but stronger. Lots of cinnamon, clove, vanilla, some caramel. Definitely not sweet - thankfully! Quite interesting! I’d like to see this one barrel aged. -see +try

Draft sample at Dominion Wine & Beer, thanks Tyler! Clear amber with beige head. Aromas of spice, caramel. Tastes of caramel, spices, toffee, honey, a little booze. Maybe a hint of sweet carrot. Medium body with a dry finish.
