Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 4 - London. Pours clear red-brown with a creamy off-white head. Good nose, some lightly tangy dried fruits, toasted grains. Light sweet flavor with further lightly tangy old berries, some beat-up leather, earthy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet to conclude, with toasted bread sugars, more old berries. Not bad.

Cask at GBBF ’14, day 4, 15/08/14. Dark amber with a moderate beige swirl and edgeing. Nose is brown bread, dark fruits, malty notes, stoned dark fruit. Taste comprises dark fruits, toasted brown bread, dark malt, faint toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dark fruit rinse in the close. Adequate mild but I usually get a little more flavour from the 5%+ ones!

Bottle [thanks to jmgreenuk] @ home. Nice red color, full sized beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is a bit sourish and so is the taste. Don’t think that’s intended is it? Average body and carbonation. In the beginning it tastes a bit off and maybe it is, but after a while you kind of get used to it and it’s actually quite decent.

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a thin off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, burnt caramel a little resin and weak liqourice. The flavour is weak bitter with a medium bodied palate. One of the best milds I’ve ever had but I’d like to see a touch more life. Super for a session.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2011. Dark chestnut colour. No real head. Some ruby malt in the mouth. Tasty enough. Very light on hops not great condition alcohol gives it some extra body. Enjoyable enough.
