Pours slightly hazy bright gold color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, juniper, clove, pepper, hay, straw, grass, wheat, bread, musty funk, light wood smoke, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy/funky yeast, juniper, pale malt, and light smoke notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, juniper, clove, pepper, hay, straw, grass, herbal, wood smoke, wheat, bread, light musty funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spiciness and some slight tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, clove, pepper, juniper, hay, straw, grass, herbal, wheat, bread, light wood smoke, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy/funky yeast, juniper, pale malt, and moderate smoke flavors; with a great malt/yeast/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent smoked/juniper saison. All around great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy/funky yeast, juniper, pale malt, and moderate smoke flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
