By gravicask at Chelmsford & Mid Essex Winter Beer Festival. Almost jet black in the glass. Fading off-white head. Dark bread and liquorice aromas. Nicely flavoured with roasted malts promoting impact of dark chocolate, bread and liquorice. Roasted finish. Easy to drink, not overly thin though. Tasty mild (16.02.2017).

Manchester Beer & Cider Festival 2016. Black with an off-white head. Has a nice, light, easy-drinking texture. It’s mainly dark malts in aroma and taste, but there’s hints of roasted ones too.

Hand-pulled pint on 21st Dec 13 in the Crown Inn, Oakengates before the Carol singing. Deep brown body with a fine looking tanned head that gave off a good amount of lacing. Roasted, toasted malts giving a chocolate note to both the nose and taste. No burnt feel to this Mild, in fact it bordered on being sweet in flavour. Good body depth for a Mild and with enough about it to carry the alcohol (only 4% ABV) nicely. A well made and tasty brew from a brewery I know very little about.
