Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a pale malty burnt orange color with a fair finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Mild lace.
The aroma had some malty smooth toffee/caramel tones overcoating some grassy and earthy hops. Slight touch of toast.
The flavor leaned to the malty crisp quality and carried in the earthy and grassy hops. Just a touch of spice. Lenient spicy to earthy and malty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good smoothness allows the spice to sit way back. Good carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, is it an English pale ale or a Bitter? Not sure, but definitely worthy of having again.
