A dark stout with a delicious blend of dark malts to provide a complexity in character which draws you in for another sip. Named after the brewer's dog, who's also very dark and complex!

23/2/2019. Cask at the Great British Winter Beer Festival 2019, Norwich. Pours vert dark brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, nut and vanilla. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Dry, bittersweet finish. Enjoyed this, good complexity, getting a lot out of this for its quite modest abv.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Light malty chocolate aroma. Dark with a reddish tint. Thin beige head. Restrained light bitter which runs smoothly in to the finish. Underlying sweetness. Chocolate. Malts. Sour berries. Medium bodied. Oily. Low key finish. Good stuff. Will use ’restrained’ again but that’s not a bad thing. A well balanced stout.

Fruity and a bit roasty. Was educated by the licensee on the nuances between stouts and porters

50cl bottle from the brewery. A slightly hazy pour, cola-brown in colour with a ring of translucent head; aroma of deeply roasted malts and drinking chocolate; the taste is sweet, with well-done toast, chocolate milkshake, and some raspberry fruit; the finish is dry, soft and fruity. Very good indeed.

Cask at CP&K. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, light smoke, charcoal, earth, iodine and peat-like notes. The taste is roasted malt, caramel, toast, light charcoal, dark fruit and light vanilla with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Easy going and pretty mellow. Decent
