We’d like you to know that we’ve taken some inspiration from the wine world for this blend. We have one oak barrel that was a sour base beer with Cabernet Franc grapes. We also stole a barrel of Brandy Angel’s Share that was earmarked for the next Angel’s Share Grand Cru. Lastly we blended in a barrel of Red Wine French Oak barrel aged Gift of the Magi with a smooth oak bretty backbone to complete the blend.

The beer is meant to be consumed and treated like a red wine. We expect there will be little to no bubbles. The oak presence is quite strong and the beer certainly will develop into a much rounder ale with some time in the cellar. Not all our beers are designed to be consumed early in their life. We took a chance with this one that more time would be a benefit to the blend. We expect those who have the patience to wait will be rewarded

I really wish I got to read the commercial description because they are right, this beer does suck young. And who makes a beer to mimic red wine by not carbonating it.... WHACK!!!! The amount of cognitive dissonance here is making me choke. Another 375mL bottle shared by Matt, thanks. Reddish black color and as advertised no carbonation. Aroma is all sour alcohol with a heaping serving of acidity. Flavor is thin and tastes like bum wine. Just too thin and just like a lot of the special Lost Abbey sours. They all come out to be the same beer.

12.7 fl oz bottle shared by mreusch. Pour is a hazed brown ruby, with only a few tan bubbles floating around the top. Aroma is the Lost Abbey vinegar sour, acetic, decent blast of mineral, nicely integrated, and pretty tame by Lost Abbey standards. Taste is a mildly sweet brown sugar, followed by the vinegar sour, black cherry, smooth in the finish with the wood. All flavors are nicely integrated. The aftertaste has some nice red wine notes. Palate is medium bodied, more or less flat, the finish has some wood and only mild warming alcohol in the finish. Nice one, thanks Matt.

enjoyed during 2011 RBWG pours murky light brown with a meidum off white head. Aroma is tart peach and floral. Flavor is caramel malts, sour peach and mango. Really soft finish of lingering carmale malts. I think this has a way to come but is delicious already.

Sampled from the tap at NotB. Poured a cloudy/murky amber with a purple hue and a tan head (slight yellow hue) that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of sour red fruits with a pretty strong acid and red wine note. Flavor began full of sour dark red fruit with a growing acid and a dry red wine like finish.

Bottle from the club. A very nice note sent with it, that I appreciate! I will miss the Saints and Sinners club! Pours with a murky, deep brown body with a minimal off-white head (as warned, and as expected). Somewhat glass coating. Aromas of huge toffee, wine, brandy, cherry, chocolate, oak, barrel, fudge, like funk, ripe plums, a tons of vinous. Madeira, port. Hugely complex. Amazing. Nectarine, dates. Very awesome. Flavors. Wow the flavors. Huge, leathery, plums, nectarines, dark fruits, caramelization, funk, vinous as hell. To me easily the most complex and tastiest Sinners to date, and will probably continue to get better. I wish I had more bottles! Full bodied, fruit and tannic. Leathery and dry fruit (mainly apricot and dates) that goes on the palate. Light carbonation, but easily enough. Some balsamic flavors on the finish. Extremely enjoyable!
