Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black. Roast, chocolate, vanilla, some bourbon, sweet and a bit umami.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is malt forward with some barrel character and hints of alcohol. Moderately strong chocolate notes with faint roast and light maple, bourbon and vanilla. I'm surprised the barrel character came through as well as it did. Pours black with a large, thick, creamy, mocha head that recedes steadily to a thin film that lingers, thicker on the edges. Moderately high amounts of lacing and medium small legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with moderately strong malt notes. Medium bitterness and a bit of alcohol warmth. Moderate chocolate and lactose notes with faint roast. Light vanilla and maple with some bourbon and faint oak. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice sweet stout. The barrel character comes through a lot stronger than expected and adds some nice character.
