Enjoy the mildly spicy and finely hopped Zwickau black beer specialty. Our Saxon brewing skills, exquisite ingredients, specially refined barley malt and the fresh, clear water from the Erzgebirge give the "Zwickau Black Gold" its typical black color and mild malt-aromatic taste. For connoisseurs and lovers of a special beer brewed according to an old traditional recipe.

The bottle looks really good, much like the one of the bock. Very dark in the glass, a little bit red also. Flavor disappointing. Modest malty from the first to the last gulp, somehow boring. I exspected more.

Bottle (donated by EithCubes!): Medium-sized off-white head, very slowly diminishing, deep amber coloured; faint dry malty nose with the faintest illusion of roasted malt; mild dry (malty) bitter flavour, soft MF, light to medium bodied; dry , light bitter and light roastmalty finish. A very restrained, but pleasant Schwarzbier.......

(bottle, with thanks to EithCubes) Clear, dark ruby brown colour with a foamy beige medium head. Light-sweet toasted malt aroma with dried prunes and a surprisingly herbal hoppy note. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium body, medium carbonation. Toast-malty, slightly papery taste with hints of dried prunes and herbal notes; dry and bitter, slightly hoppy finish

Bottle, sent by EithCubes - thanks! Light roasted malt, nut and herbal hop notes. Pretty red brown with a very nice off-white foamy head. Caramelized malty notes, restained maltyness balanced very well by a good bittering hop profile. Lightbodied, sparkly mouthfeel. Fruittree and heather honey aftertaste.

Solides Schwarzbier. Test vom 27.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,11,9,12,9 - 9,45
