This West Coast beauty tastes like a tropical concoction on the secret menu at your favorite cantina. Only that one bartender knows how to make it, and they aren’t giving away their secrets. A simple malt bill and a neutral yeast strain let the potent and synergistic hop expression do all of the talking. Simcoe, Citra and Mosaic Cryo hops were added in somewhat irresponsible amounts, and then we added some traditional T-90 pellets of all three for good measure. A blend of papaya, passion fruit, orange, and peach juices infused with hints of basil, lemongrass and coriander tease across the palate. What did you put in this drink man? Just hops.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated October 05, 2023. Aroma is very hop forward with tons of citrus notes of grapefruit, tangerine and tropical citrus. Lighter pine resin notes and some dank oily notes as well. Light cracker malt and light alcohol notes. Pours a moderately hazy, golden orange with a large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges. Medium lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with medium light cracker malt notes. Moderately strong bitterness with light alcohol notes. Fairly strong citrus hop notes of grapefruit, tropical citrus and tangerine. Lighter tropical fruit notes. Some pine resin and dank, oily notes that linger in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid IPA. Lots of citrus hop notes with dank, oily notes as well. Solid bitterness that balances the malt notes and hides the alcohol.
