7.2/10 Appearance 8 Aroma 8 Flavor 7 Texture 6 Overall 7
Very hazy straw and light golden coloured body with a thinnish two centimetre tall off-white microfoamed head that tops the beer nicely, above the ninety per cent opaque glowing yellow body. Aroma of pure tangerines, slightly tart fruit, a lot of sugars with some honey and fructose and some alcohol noticeable in the nose, too. Full-bodied; Very rich and pretty astringent alcohol and bitter hops dominate with a lot of floral and especially grassy notes with a strong and pungent bite from the alcohol and some rich malts show at the very end without any respite. Aftertaste is deep, super pungent and astringent without much sweetness at all, but some citrus notes are here with a lot of hops coming through at the end - very deep and pungent, even with the malt, this has Imperial written all over it. Overall, a nice but very strong IPA that definitely shows a lot of Imperial notes, but especially with the malt richness and astringency from metal here, but the alcohol is deep too of course, as is the hop bitterness. Nice to sample, but not my favourite, but decent enough to fly home with across the country and try here! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in San Francisco (Haight Street), California on 08-March-2022 for US$5,99 with the tagline 'no jerks' on the bottom and canned on 09-February-2022 but sampled at my house here on the East Coast in Washington on 13-June-2022.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated February 09, 2022. Aroma is fairly hop forward with passion fruit, mango, tropical citrus and hints of melon. Light dank, resin notes. Light cracker malt notes and light alcohol notes. Pours a hazy, dull, golden color with a medium large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges. Flavor is somewhat sweet with light cracker malt notes. Moderately strong bitterness with medium light alcohol notes. Moderate hop notes of passion fruit, tropical citrus, orange and grapefruit with lighter notes of dank, resin character. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid TIPA. Alcohol is well hidden, it's not too malt forward and the hop profile is very well balanced. This is easy drinking and pretty nice.
