Poured from a 16 oz can dated April 30, 2021. Aroma is malt forward with lots of caramel, toasted bread, crackers and biscuit. Light notes of woodsy, herbal hops and faint alcohol. Faint fruity notes. Pours a fairly clear, copper-amber color with a medium large, failed thick, light tan head that recedes quickly to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges. Medium lacing and faint legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with caramel, toasted bread, cracker and biscuit notes. Fairly strong bitterness that lingers into he finish and hints of alcohol. Medium hop notes that are woodsy, earthy and herbal. Faint fruity esters. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid strong bitter. Not a style I drink with any frequency, but this is malty and pretty tasty. Quite a bit of bitterness to balance the malt notes.
