Poured from a 16 oz can dated March 9, 2021. Aroma is rather malt forward with lots of toasted bread, dark caramel, toffee and crackers. A bit of raisin and cherry notes with hints of woody hop notes. Faint alcohol note. Pours a rather clear, dark amber color with some ruby hues and a medium large, thick, pillowy, slightly tan head that recedes somewhat quickly to a small film that lingers on the edges. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with lots of toasted bread, caramel and lighter toffee and cracker notes. Medium light bitterness and light alcohol notes. Light woody hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid Irish red. Nice malt note switch a balanced sweetness and a bit of bitterness that lingers into the finish.
