Bottle from Beers of Europe, online. Pale yellow clear pour. Aroma of pear skins, caramelised sugars and custard with vanilla. Taste is sweet and syrupy with a fruity pear and skins dominating over apple notes. Reasonable fruitiness but too sweet and not balanced.

Clear glass bottle 50 cl. Pours almost crystal clear with only a faint, greenish tint. Discreet apple aroma. Medium body, very sweet and sugary with only discreet notes of apples and pears. Way too commercialized Cider for people who do not like Cider. 230924

Bladder bag at the George, Sutton Courtenay Oxon, 01/10/23. Pale almost translucent yellow with no head. Nose is sweet apple, sugars, hint of pear. Taste comprises sweet pear, apple pie filling, tannins, sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Sweet and sugary but better than the usual Lilleys nonsense as not going too off piste from traditional flavours.

Box at Bag o Nails, Victoria, London. Disappointing it is sold as cask and comes out of a box. A flat cider with little to speak of save a sweet fruity taste.

Bottle at nice pub in rural Gloucestershire where we stopped for lunch. Appearance - yellow to gold. Gentle carbonation. Nose - delicate apples with definitely some pears too. Taste - sweet and gentle apples again. Palate - light to medium bodied, gentle but balanced acidity from the fruit. Overall - nice. Surprised to see that is mostly made from pear rather than apple.
