On draft at Westover Beer Garden in Arlington, VA. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Fruity aroma. Orange peel notes in the flavor. Quite a lovely beer.

Pour is murky gold with a sticky mostly white head. Pineapple and citrus hop aroma. The flavor is moderately bitter all the way to the finish. Needs a little malt to balance and to get this away from the hop juice category.

Super hazy copper coloured body with a nice orange glow and a thin one centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of honey, grapefruit, earthy malt, alcohol and a bit of basementy must. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep strong earthy and herbal hop note with a bright grapefruity and lemony flavour with a lot of alcohol and a long-lasting flavour. Aftertaste shows some herbal notes, but mostly a bright and earthy hop flavour with a good malt balance and some alcohol tucked in. Overall, a nice Imperial IPA on the lighter side, but still showing a ton of hops, a lot of alcohol and a more herbal and citrus fruit flavour - plus the small format bottle helps. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, DC on 28-October-2011 for US$2.99 sampled at home in Washington on 17-April-2012.

12oz bottle pours a weird, tan sort of color with a thin, eggshell head. Nose is very pungent, pine, grapefruit, soap, lemons, limes, orange zest, a little bit malty. Flavor is fairly solid, heavy pine, heavy soap, the citrus is a little muddled, some grapefruit, some lemon. Good malt backing, crackers, some light caramel. Full bodied, bitter finish. Well balanced.

5oz pour at Pizzeria Paradiso in Alexandria VA. Poured a cloudy copper color with a small relatively white head. Aroma was caramel notes, honey, citrus. Flavor was pretty subtle, considering the ABV. Well crafted Imperial IPA - enjoyable, tasty. Will keep an eye out for this particular brew in the future to see if it’s as good in the bottle.

12 oz. bottle, pours a slightly hazy but mostly clear golden orange with a small white head. Loads of resinous hops on the nose with substantial caramel malt to balance. Flavour is intensely bitter with citrusy hops dominating the profile with little malt balance to detect. Some orange peel / lemon zest in there as well. Quite good, though this is way out of balance. Enjoyable nonetheless.
