Cast Iron Billy is a luxuriously smooth and heady stout that harkens back to the smog-filled streets of a Victorian London consumed by the industrial revolution. Imperial in terms of its ABV, this 10.5% delight is a majestic drop of roasty and malty beer that packs aromas of coffee, dark berry flavours and delicate hints of vanilla. A real treat of a brew that should be savoured slowly and enjoyed to the fullest.

Canned. Close to black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, some roasted malts, toffee and wood. Flavour is chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, some caramel and a bit alcohol to it. Also some liquorice to it.

Can. Clear, deep brown body under a fast disappearing head. Aroma has toffee, nut cream and lactose with some toasted malt in the background. Taste is sweet caramel, chocolate, coffee, nut cream, lactose. Fine body and same aftertaste. Tasty and sweet, but the overall impression for me is too one-dimensional and artificial.

440ml can kindly shared by Finn, rating session at Bergstua. Spotty lacing from a filmy layer, almost black in the glass. Roasted dark malty aromas, black chocolate, appealing. Well balances malt-driven taste of liquorice, chocolate, earth, and cocoa. A backdrop of coffee towards a lingering, smoothly roasted finish. Full bodied. Pleasing. (Malangen 01.09.2022).

Delt med Rune på Bergstua. Svart. Middels høyt mokkafarget skum som daler sakte & etterlater tynn teppelacing. Aroma av sjokolade & røstet malt. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken nøtter & sevje. Tørr, lett bitter avslutning. En god en.

440ml can. Dark brown, almost black, with a tight tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, a little coffee. Rich flavour with the same chocolate, malt and coffee coming through but also a hefty dollop of dried fruit, red wine and spice. Lovely

Pretty much opaque dark brown beer. Smells of toasty malt and a little coffee. Tastes of malt, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, a bit of liquorice, some vanilla, caramel. A little boozy warmth in a bittersweet finish. Rich, tasty, smooth.

Can. (thanks SirLimpsalot) Almost black with a small head. Sweetish with roasted malt, mild coffee, caramel and dark chocolate. The finish was quite long.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with small, creamy, fading, tan head. Roasty, dark malty and caramel malty aroma, notes of caramel, dark caramel, some coffee, cocoa, treacle, molasses, a touch of vanilla. Taste is sweet-ish and roasty, caramel and dark malty, notes of caramel, dark caramel, some treacle, coffee, cocoa, molasses, whiffs of vanilla, some bitter roasty aspects; lingering, bitter hoppy and minimally alcoholic, warming finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft to flat carbonation. Balanced, harmonious - nice, easy sipper.
