Our collaboration with Horus Aged Ales! Buku Maureen is an 18% Apple Brandy Imperial Stout that is conditioned on Vietnamese Cocoa Nibs. This Imperial Stout was aged in Apple Brandy barrels for 14 months and conditioned on double the amounts of cocoa nibs than we use in Buku Mocha. The result is notes of sweet apple, spice, rich chocolate, marshmallow, vanilla, caramel and of course Mocha, Mocha, & more Mocha!

The rim is brown, rest of the beer jet-black. Not a trace of CO². Raisins, old wood, portwine, hint of cigarleaf. Some rosewater and lots of dark chocolate. Sweet, dark cherries, Sachertorte. Chocolate and sweet cherryganache. Utterly full bodied, if rather oily, film-like than chewy. Bottle contains some interesting bubbly UFO's, lending a special sensation as tapioca in soup. Very sweet, but yet phenomenal.

From bottle @ Pien Shop, Helsinki. Poured black in color. Smooth with vanilla, oat , chocolate cream and sweetness. Pastry goodness. This was really nice despite being on the sweeter side, but in good balance.

Bottle, courtesy of mansquito. Pours black. Chocolate, apple, sweet apple, caramel, boozy, lots of milk chocolate. Nice oily body. Very good.

50cl bottle pours a leggy viscous black with a ring of beige head. Nose has cocoa and booze and some burnt wood, molasses. Flavor has malt and booze and some sweetened coffee and Charleston Cheew. Finishes big and boozy and a touch hot. A bit basic.

500 ml bottle shared by DCLawyer, thanks Jason! Dark brownish black. Aromas of roast, oak, dark chocolate, apple. Tastes of dark chocolate, roast. Medium-full body with a dry finish.

500ml bottle, I think it was 500ml... Poured a dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma was dark fruits, roasted coffee, brandy, boozy, vanilla. Dark chocolate. Chocolate. Cherries. Milk chocolate. Super nice. Alcohol is incredibly masked in this one.
