The very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing, crisp finish is achieved by dry hopping. The fruity, citrusy aroma is a nice complement with grilled prawns and spicy foods.

Bottle: Poured a golden color with light white head. Aroma is soft hops not to overwhelming to the nose. Taste was of bitter hops and soft malt tails to give the finish a nice balance.

A nice golden yellow with nice, thick head. Very strong citrus notes with deep hop kick--very piney hop bitterness. This is a good one.

12oz bottle split. Filtered, relatively light orange-tan. Small, soapy head. Pretty clean and easy drinking. This is a classic IPA, dry and resinous. Well done.

Bottled (thanks Kalevi Kurronen!). Goldeny orange colour with a mediumsized white creamy head which leaves some slight lace. Aroma is fruity and floral hops along with ome sap, caramel malts as well as quite grassy and bready notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with some mild herbal notes. Quite fruity and floral hoppy finish. Nothing mindblowing, but a pleasantly balanced mellow IPA.

Botle pours a crystal clear light yellow orange with a small lively white head that faded rather quickly. Very little IPA aroma. A little sweet maltiness and maybe a little fresh pine/grassines. Defiantly the sorriest excuse I have seen for an IPA so far. Flavor also is mostly light sweet malt. Slight hop bitterness, barely even enough to offset the remaining residual sugars. Which is not much. It’s like someone poured half my glass with Corona first. A little bitter bite at then end...but I think that is just the hops saying "SYCHE! ! " Not bad, per se’ just very disappointing.

A nice IPA, clean and tasty. Not alot of hops, but it was bottled 13 months before so they may have dropped out.

Enjoyed at the Yard House in San Diego. I’m from Chicago and was blown away by the Alaskan Summer Ale last time I was on the Pacific coast, so I was happy to try anything from Alaskan. This had to be the lightest, most carbonated IPA I’ve ever had. Aroma was faint but slightly noticeable with subtle hops due to dry hopping. Appearance was of a standard IPA, only lighter. Taste was very light, almost like a peachy light pale ale, and carbonated. It wasn’t bad, just not great like I was anticipating.

Mediocre IPA. Coming from the brewer of some remarkable beers, this one is disappointing. The biggest problem is simply that it’s rather bland. The liquid is a bright gamboge with a rocky slightly off-white head. The aroma is mostly citric with some peaches, probably all from hops. The flavor is relatively dry but lacks any real depth. The hops just seem to fade away too quickly. There’s a bit of bright bitterness initially but the finish is weak and a bit watery. Caramel malt has some presence, but that flavor even gets a bit sour.

Palate: Smooth and crisp with a nice mouthfeel and a long duration
Overall Impression: I really liked this beer. It's a bit on the one dimensional side, but I just really enjoyed that one dimension. It could have been the great meal overlooking the water, the fact that I was enjoying the 75 degree days of So Cal instead of the 20 degree days of the NE, or that I'm just a sucker for a pine/grapefruit IPA, but I enjoyed this one quite a bit.
