Cask sample at the Rake, London Bridge. A sample was all I needed of this pointless beer. Pours dark reddish-brown with no head. Lots of over the top chilli in the nose. Shit loads of hot spice in the flavour. I’m not a fan of chilli beers but if they do have to exist then just a tad of chilli heat is needed not Krakatoa on the tongue. This rubbish I’m sure will go down well with the ’give me the hottest thing on the menu brigade’. Totally over the top, utterly pointless molten throat lava ’phall’ beer.

500ml bottle @ 12th Shrewsbury Bottle Share, April 15, courtesy of Blackhaddock. There’s not a lot else I hate more than chilli beer. Garlic beer probably - that was hard to beat. This is taking chilli to the extremes. A flanders red aroma bizarrely enough, first sip zaps you with fiery chilli. And that’s enough for me. No thanks.

28th April 2015: 500ml bottle (BBD Sep 15), shared at a Shrewsbury Bottle Exchange Group meeting. Thanks for having some everybody (five of us), even if two of you drain poured it after a sip or two! Red hue to the dark body, wispy tanned topping. It warns you about the chilli heat but you obviously ignore that and get stuff in right? It’s bloody hot and takes some drinking power to stay with it: no way could I have had a whole bottle and I like hot chillies, curries and stuff, but not in a beer. Scored objectively: it states it’s make up on the label and it tells the truth.

Appearance: Very dark brown, hazy I think, flat.
Aroma: Sour fruit, chilli.
Taste: So, I didn’t know this was a chilli beer, so a big swig later my mouth was on fire. Before that it had some sourness. Not going to risk it "burning twice" so the rest of the bottle goes in the drain. Amazing how much chilli they decided to add to this socalled beer.

Bottle at Craig’s. Nothing on nose, one sip destroys taste buds and throat, burn lingers for a while.

Bottle I brought to Blippsmas courtesy of Colin. Pours muddy brown no head. Nose is quite pleasant - mostly fruit salad with a touch of chili pepper. Taste is fruit juice and lightly sweet candy followed by lingering pepper heat. Some vegetal notes. Heat is lingering but not overpowering though I probably wouldn’t drink a bottle by myself. Lighter bodied.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe - "JohnRMurdoch (2493) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - JUN 22, 2010 Bottle from Beers of Europe. One sip was all it took. This is the worst beer I have ever had. Smells like a cow shed. Very dark brown colour, tastes like water with chilli powder. I like hot spicy food but not this." Never agreed more with a review more. This is the worst beer I’ve had, one sip and a drainpour later, I’m still tasting this. Horrible sediment riddled body, nasty aroma, and harsh pure chilli taste. I love hot, I really do, I love beers with chilli in. But this... this... gash!

(Bottle) Clear reddish black with no head - looked like flat coke. Dark toffee and chili aroma. Medium body with nice gentle fizz. Foretaste is vinegary acidic with some sweetness to balance. The sweetness drops away leaving a strong tartness which in turn transforms to quite a fiery chili burn that lasts and lasts. It’s seriously hot, but if you enjoy hot foods it is well within the palatable range. If you don’t like hot food it will I expect be intolerable. Overall, for the type of beer, very good, but really this is a speciality to be tried once.

Bottle 500ml. [ As my UK rating # 4500 on ratebeer ]. ABV: 5.2%. Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, sweet berries, blackcurrant ? dried fruit - berry. Initial flavour is almost heavy berry and malt sweet and moderate bitter, finish flavor is still almost heavy and moderate bitter with a long long duration, but then comes the chili burn and it is hot hot chili warm. Quit funny it start mega sweet but end like mega mega hot chili burn. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Quit undrinkeble .. but tasty and fun to have tryed ;O() wow ! [20110819]
