Bottle shared with chilli loving friends friends in Greenwich, sampled November 2014. Pours black ish with a beige cap. Aroma: dark berries, chilli spice. Taste: fruity with sour hints and then the chilli comes through. Phew! Lingering heat & tingle. Glad it was shared, a bottle to myself would have been a bad idea!

Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2016. Cheers to Dan, I believe. Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. Moderately spicy, also a bit infected and tart. Light bodied with active carbonation. Tangy and spicy finish. Not very enjoyable.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Low carbonation and a thin head. Nose - molasses and smoke. Boiled sweet and a hint of chilli. Taste - hot chilli and smoke. Sweetness not so evident as on the nose. Palate - creamy and too spicy by far! Overall - it burns, it burns! And it's down the sink.

Bottle shared with a friend. Dark brown, translucent, flat. Light meaty smell, molé, root beer. Sour taste with a fuckload of chillies. Sour hot finish. Bad beer made palatable by scorching my oesophagus. Not recommended.

Bottle thanks to Dirty Danny (living up to his reputation) at Cotteridge Convention 2016. It pours dark brown with limited head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, earth and some green veg. The taste is tangy, sour, chilli action, hot tangy goodness, green veg, sherbet with a tangy, hot finish. Medium body and low carbonation. If I hadn’t just had that ghost chilli beer from Steel City I imagine this would have burned more. Hot, tangy and messy overall. Lives up to the hype.
