Cask at the Crosse Keys (JDW), City of London. Bright straw with a ring of white head; light gingery aroma; sweet and grainy to start, then some ground ginger adding warmth before a spicy bitter finish. A subtle ginger beer.

Cask at the Pommelers Rest, JDW. Pours clearish, matte yellow with a tight, white film. Nice ginger in the nose with subtle bread. Flavor is all ginger up front but sans the stinging sensations, which is nice. Gives way to bread and malty sweetness, then some earth and straw hops. Light to medium in body with fine to average carbonation. Less ginger in the finish, though there is some, but there is greater emphasis on lingering earthy and herbal bitters. Nice beer, really.
