Bottle shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus @ Dutchdrebus 3000 ratings tasting. Opaque dark brown color, medium sized beige to light brown head. Smell malts, clearly blackberries, light to moderately roasty. Taste malts, roasted malts, blackberries, nicely bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Nice one!

Bottle from AlesByMail.co.uk. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are sweet roadt malt, lactose sugar, fruits, chocolate and hops.

Bottle @ DΓE tasting. Pours dark brown with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, fruit, blackberries. Flavor is roasted malts, light tartness, chocolate, fruity. Thin body, lively carbonation, dry roasted finish. 170713

Bottle from alesbymail. Clear dark brown with a big and lasting light brown head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt, chocolate and fruity. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish. Light bodied. 170713

500ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Dark malty aroma with a roasty touch, fruity notes of red and dark berries, a soy sauce-like spicy touch. Taste is spicy dark malty, minimally salty, roasty notes with a touch of coffee appear in the dry finish; soft carbonation, soft palate.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the excellent Cock Hotel, Wellington on 18 Apr 2013. Dark brown, almost black: a deep ruby red hue when held up to a strong light source. Good creamy head which produced some good heavy lacing. Dark chocolate with coffee and liquorice notes in the nose and taste, rich for such a low alcohol beer and very flavoursome also. The finish is dry and semi-bitter. Impressed.

Cask by handpump, one-third pint at the Ship and Mitre. Coal dark body, low layer at the top, dotted spots to the glassware. Dark chocolate nose added by coffee notes. Earthy malts in flavour with a touch of dark chocolate. Dry, roasted bitter ending. Not thin at all. Pretty nice even though the blackberry was absent (Liverpool, 08.04.2013).

On gravity at Gloucester beer festival, 23/3/2013. Dark brown with a slight, off-white head. Roasty, charred malts, a touch of bitter chocolate and a hint of blackberry in the finish. A bit dull.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, 12/01/13. Mid black with a thin tan head, good lacing ensues. Nose is light roast malt, berry fruits, touch of liqourice. Taste follows, molasses, hint of chocolate, berry fruit flavour seems a tad artificial but itβs fairly subtle so doesnβt detract from the general stoutiness! Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish. Ok.
