This blood-red ale may not be what you expect from a malty and hoppy craft beer. Evil Twin has a rich malt character, without being overly sweet. It has a huge hop character, without being overly bitter. It is a great example of a bold, rich, balanced craft beer, without being heavy and hard to drink in quantity. Our Evil Twin is only bad because it is too good to resist.

On tap @ BrewDog Camden. A really good looking white superbly lacing head on this one. The beer itself is a soft cloudy golden looking one. Smells really melony and zesty. Yeast, yes there's a sticky sweetness here also. Tones of dried fruits. Yeah, a really acceptable nose for sure. Tastes quite good also. It's nice and oily in the texture and soft prickling on the bubbles. Wish it had a bit more kick on the bubbles, but that's most likely caused it's been idle for a while in the glass. It's well hopped, melony in the taste also. I get a good amount of piney bitter hops here. A little alco warmth in the tail. Really nice to sip on. 14.08.2015

650ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark red with a medium, frothy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, roast, pine and orange. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, bread, orange and pine with a dry, bitter, hop resin finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Nicely done.

Can 355ml.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Dark red color, nearly black. Moderate and creamy beige head. Hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit, pine, herbs and spices, also notes of lightly roasted malts. The rich and medium dry flavour is malty first, immediately followed by piney, spicy and grapefruity hops. Ends in a nice bitterness.
