My father tells a story of a hedgelayer who would take 24 pints of cider in a stone jar to work daily, just for refreshment, all before going to the pub in the evening! This medium cider, light and refreshing, pays homage to that legendary gentleman.

cask at Cock Tavern. It pours lightly hazy deep pissy gold with minimal head. The aroma is earthy, musty, funky, apple pie, barnyard funk, hay and bit of slurry. The taste is drying, bitter, earthy, leather, apple pie, apple skin, musty, funk, hay, tannin, apple pie, touch of acidity and some stewed tea with a drying finish. Medium body low carbonation. Quite decent funky cider. A touch rough in areas perhaps.

Cask at the cock tavern. A light hazed golden pithy yellow coloured pour with a a halo of white head. Aroma is spicy funk, lacto, spicy apple. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, tangy, light vinegar, pithy apple juice, little plastic, apple skin. Palate is dry and spicy, lowish carbonation, prickly finish.. Nice

From cask. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is crisp apples zesty. Dry and sour zesty citric. Dry snd lingering citric finish. Lingering citric far finish. Bone dry.

moderately tart. Very pale color. Somewhat tannic nose. Not so well balanced but decent enough

Jug at The Harp, London, with Mom. Pours lightly cloudy, vibrant gold with a few bubbles. Musty sweep apple aroma. Very sweet flavor with a slight, salty tang and mild must. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Faintly dry and quite sweet finish. Good apple character. Great stuff, easy drinker.

Cask gravity @ Bree Louise, Euston NW1. Pours a slightly hazy yellow color with no head. Has a sweetish woody apple aroma. Sweetish slightly woody apple flavor. Has a sweetish and slightly tart apple finish.

Polycask @ The Bree Louise, 69 Coburg Street, Euston, London, England NW1 2HH.ABV: 4.9%. Unclear matt medium yellow orange colour with a virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to heavy apple, vinegar, aceton. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a long to average duration, acetone, vinegar notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20110731]

Box@The Bree Louise, London. Hazy golden colour, no head. Aroma is apples, some yeast, mild notes of herbs and some mild nectary notes. Flavour is quite much the same in a nice balance.
