Bottle from Cheers Liquor Store, Todmorden. Dark red with a small bubbly head. Not a bad ’weizen’ for a non-German, mainly ale brewer (although I believe the head brewer is from an adjacent country). There’s a dark-fruit sweetness to this ale with an underlying roasted character. It fizzes a little in the palate.

Pigs Ear Festival, Hackney. Smooth and a touch smoky. No bitterness and no fruit. Drinkable.
