12oz Bottle pours out a nice brown topped with a tan head. Aroma was of coffee, sweet chocolate, malts, and some roast. Taste was more of the coffee, choclate, and a nice roast malt. Much better than I was expecting.

12 oz bottle into English pint. Pours almost black with a thin beige head. Aroma is nice and strong coffee, bread and a vague unpleasant off-note (cooked vegetables?) that’s not offensive enough to bring the aroma score down too much. Taste is sweet and a bit sour. Carbonation is medium-high, body is medium, mouthfeel is creamy. I like it, but it’s not on the same caliber as the Mt. Shasta Shastafarian Porter I had right before this.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a clear dark reddish brown with a creamy light brown head. Dry, clean coffee aroma. Medium body, sweet roasted malt, vanilla and some dried fruit - and then again distinct coffee notes. Dry coffee bitter finish. Well made. 220611

Purchased at Vas Foremost in Chicago, IL before my band played a house show; enjoyed then and on a night trying to make the most complex split pea soup I can make and probably failing at that. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, reminded me of a coffee stout that I homebrewed with Trader Joe’s dark roast coffee beans. Appearance pure black with a rich, creamy off-white head. Aroma of an immense dark roast coffee, smells like they just threw whole beans into the fermentation. Taste is of immense dark roast coffee notes, they definitely dominate the brew, and it has a nice lactose/milky backing while being a little more thin than a stout which is what I like from a porter. Also a hint of chocolate in there, but really this one is just a coffee bomb and I’m into it.

On tap at Brewforia Beer market, Meridian, ID. Black with a modest but dense and lasting yellowish sandy colored head. Big coffee aroma and classic porter roasted notes as well. Body is a bit thin and fairly dry like a typical porter but that coffee comes through in a big way here as well. Dominant, but not harsh and bitter like black coffee can be. Softly carbonated, smooth and soft bodied. Can barely detect any hops and the finish is roasted coffee again. Major coffee in this but it works and it is a nice soft porter otherwise.
