Launched in October 2001, Bee’s is Arkell’s first organic ale. Organically grown malted barley, hops and, unusually, organically produced honey are used in the brew. These give this golden premium bottled ale a light, fresh taste - with the organic honey providing a delightful and surprising flavour.

Bottle 500ml (K-Supermarket Kamppi)
Clear deep golden color, small white head. Aroma has green apple and honey. Light-bodied. Sweetish malty flavor with apple and honey. Light English hoppyness in the finish. Balanced but a bit too much apple flavor for my bitter. Overall boring. For Sauna ...

An unexpected Christmas present from the wife: 500ml bottle, best before 2nd Apr 14, poured into two ’Countryman half-pint tankards’ at home on 31st Dec 13. The good lady wanting to try her present to me (she actually thought it was fine, we disagreed). Pours a golden amber colour, bright, clear and clean, very little head and what there was did a runner very quickly. Not a lot of honey in the aroma or taste. In fact I’m not too sure what’s going on here ’full stop’. There is a distinct lack of flavour until the beer warmed a little in the tankards and not much even then. Hints of floral hops in the warming esters but it doesn’t remind me of honey or even an English Country garden. This beer just let itself down, the brewery down and England in general! Very disappointed by my last review of 2013.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Gold with a fast fading white head; lively, soft, carbonation; lemon and light honey aroma; rather sweet honeyed flavour, with light herbal hops to finish. Light, fresh and refreshing.
