Black with faint ruby accents. Medium foam in the colour of coffee with milk, slowly falling and creating a lacing. Good chocolate aroma. Soft consistency, light body, dry. The taste is noticeable roastiness, melanoid notes, dark chocolate, some dried fruit, raisins. Refreshing and very drinkable. Cocoa at the end.

500ml bottle bought at Beautiful Beers. Shared with Finn. Steady fawn-coloured head, black in the glass, spotty lacing. Smooth roasted malts, hints of toffee. A vibe of smoke to the taste of caramel malts, added by dark fruits. Rounded roasted malty end. Satisfying. (Hotel room, Cambridge 12.11.2021).

Delt med Rune på rom 230 på Travelodge Cambridge Central. Svart. Middels høyt mokkafarget skum som daler veldig sakte og etterlater klaselacing. Bra sjokoladearoma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken mest lakris. Balansert. Kakao i avslutninga.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers. This one is called Black Porter Ale but is same % as this beer so didn't want to make extra work for Admins. Appearance - very dark brown to black and opaque. Thin fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate, blackberries and blueberries. Taste - blackberries and chocolate. Prune or raisin edge. Palate - tangy and rich texture. Medium bodied. Tangy but at the same time roast finish. Overall - good stuff.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 1 - London. Pours rich black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Nicely balanced milk chocolate character, some toasted sugars, light ash, earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good balance at the end, with more rich dark malts, dry earth and cocoa, burnt wood. Good one.
