Belgian Style - Strong Ale Regular|

Intensely fruity and complex Belgian-style ale. This special beer is a brewing art from start to finish. A full mash tun of malted barley is required to reach the high gravity required for this style, along with a high percentage of special classic Belgian-style malt. Noble hops are added sparingly to the kettle. During the long boil special kettle sugars are added in the Belgian Tradition which lends to unique flavors in the fermenter. A classic Belgian yeast strain is pitched and the long fermentation is monitored closely as the flavors develop. The beer is then chilled and aged before being kegged and bottled.

Whoa! Fruity, yeasty, hoppy. Aroma, that is. Reddish amber color with a nice white head. Full bodied, with lightly creamy carbonation. The flavor is Belgian candi, caramel, stone fruit, yeast and a hint of diacetyl. This is overpowering stuff. High impact. The finish is spicy, sweet and floral hops. Itβs sort of a overly sweet Belgian. On the other hand it tastes better than a lot of Belgians. Blind tasting would put it in the Belgian camp. Good drink.

Bottle from Enniskillen; nose of caramel, sweet brown sugar, and a touch of alcohol; crystal clear rusty red with a medium beige head; flavor has lots of alcohol, with a bit of hop bitterness, contrasting the sweetness of the caramel, s[ices, and sugar. Doesnβt cover the 11.1% all that well, but I have lots of other high rated high ABV brews that were similiar. I like it. Pretty decent attempt at a BSA!

Bottled. Muddy amber, near no head. Aroma of almonds.Yeasty and toffeeish. Sweet and full bodied. Packed with concentrated, intense flavours: butterscotch, cane sugar, oranges etc. Grassyfinish. Going for all at once, ends up in a mess - but itβs a good mess...

Orangey-cherry colour. Candyish, sugary, peachy aroma with hints of caramel, bread crust and mushrooms. Mouthfeel is thick, slightly sticky, with low carbonation. Flavour is caramel/toffee malt with light esters (pear, apricot) and a strong alcoholic backbone. Sweet finish.

Bottle Pours a clear medium copper with a small off-white head. This dissapears quickly leaving sparse lacing and a thin white ring. Aroma is of malts and caramel. Slight apple/pear fruit hints as well. A little of that belgian spice. Flavor is a sharp bite of alcohol fumes and some apple and malts. The Alchohol is the main player here and overpowers everyone else too much.
