12 ounce bottle from Three Cellars Menomonee Falls, 3/18/19. Dark brown, large creamy brown head, good retention. Aroma of nuts, chocolate, whiskey, caramel, vanilla. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, cocoa, roast, coffee, oak. Medium bodied, booze well hidden. Tasty.

The fifth edition of this series is a better beer than three and four. It has an opaque black color with some ruby when held up to light. There is a head that starts out tall and thick and never entirely fades. Alcohol is present in the aroma, as well as oak. The flavor is complex with dried fruit, some chocolate, alcohol, moderately roasted malt, and a little sugar. I am not sure the barrel aging helped the beer. There is enough alcohol that it is warming and a prominent part of the flavor and aroma.
