on cask-pours a retaining tight light brown head with heavy lacing and black color. Aroma is sweet/rosty/chocolate-dark malt, some spice/earthy. Taste is roasty/unsweetened dark chocolate-dark malt, dusty.

Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Unclear dark amber brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, toffe, light licorice. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100804]

Cask at GBBF 2010. A pitch black beer with no head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish. The body is light.

Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Tan head with good retention recedes to skim surface leaving spot lacing. Toasted pumpernickel and roasted cocoa aromas. Thin with roasted espresso and chocolate front to back. Dry, dusty cocoa finish.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2010. Very dark brown colour. Not great. Some dark lager characteristics. But has funny finish. Herb and touch of liquorice. Not great and not my thing.

Cask@GBBF20010. Hazy deep ambery brown colour with mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is some dark dry fruits, mild ashes, some slight acidic wooden notes as well as mild caramel. Flavour is dark dry fruits, some mild yeasty notes, mild sourish wood as well as some caramel.

End of day rating! Cloudy dark brown beer with a residual suddy tan head. Light dry palate. Tangy dark malt. That’s about it.

From cask. Pours hazy brown with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity, yeasty and slight acidic. Fruity and slight acidic flavoured. Dry and malty finish. Slight acidic. Bitteer and dry malty finish. Lasting fruity note.
