12 ounce bottle thanks to hershiser2! Hazy amber, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of caramel, toast, fruity notes, mild hops. Taste is pine, dank, resin, toasted malt. Medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness. Dry. A little muddled but that might be from age. Overall pretty good.

Crisp, deep copper and light brown coloured body with a thin, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of toffee, earth, peated malt, grain, light herbal hops with some nuts and caramelised sugars as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong metallic and astringent flavour at first with some biscuity malt, grain, alcohol and musty nut flavours showing through with a light hop bitterness and a dash of light sweetness from the caramel and nutty bite. Aftertaste is relatively bitter - mainly from the grain and nuts, but the yeast and light bready qualities dominate near the end that hit more of a lager flavour than an Ale - especially with the lingering pungency. Overall, decent at best, and although I had this one the same day I bought it, it was fairly poor in terms of hop freshness and characteristics, not showing much in terms of depth. Definitely worth passing over, even in a cheap mixed six pack, but t his has become the norm with ABInBev's takeover at DB. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from Harris Teeter in Pentagon Row (Arlington), Virginia on 19-November-2019 for US$1,87 sampled at my house here in Washington, a few blocks away on 19-November-2019 as well.
