Super deep and hazy beautiful indigo and purple coloured body with a very thin, single centimetre tall off-white head that fades very quickly, but a very murky and hazy glow, all from the fruits of course, but about 90 per cent opaque. Aroma of blueberries, relatively rustic and earthy elements from the berries with some blackberry and a light dose of blackcurrants with a more American feel and quality than the currants, but some distinct soured and tart grapey notes, but more malt than I'd expect here. Medium-bodied; Fairly rich malt and slightly grainy even malt flavours and pungency comes through that leaves a bit more noticeable than just a simple easy-drinking wheat backbone, but the fruits are here to stay with the blueberries and blackberry elements, but far less in terms of complexities from the blackcurrants here. Aftertaste shows the dry-ish, grassy, but very creamy and rich malt elements with a nice soured and tart fruit bite and some lactose even picked up towards the end, all making this easy-drinking, but full of fruit notes and a light earthiness from the malts and relatively rustic fruits. Overall, a very nice, rich-ish beer with a good malt backbone for balance and stacked with some lactose, creamy and fruit notes that balance out nicely with less of the soured and tart fruit flavours than I expected coming into this, but all-things-considered, it turns out to be an adequate amount, in a good way. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Harris Teeter in Arlington (Potomac Yard), Virginia on 05-May-2021 for US$1,87 sampled at my house here in Washington, a few blocks away on 22-October-2021.

Pint can from the brewery, 7/28/21. I do love currants! Clear red (at least in this light). Large fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of yogurt, currant, funk. Taste is yogurt, blackberry, currant, dark fruits, a bit of pepper. Lingering tart. I too hope I won't feel this at 3am. Nice, if a bit amateu.... err... rustic. Oh cool, 18.4 k. Woot!
