Mr. Kite has been a staff favorite since he walked into our lives five years ago. Brewed with pilsen malt and both flaked and malted oats, this 6.7% IPA is soft and comforting while still finishing with a refined dryness. Just the way we like ‘em.

Only two hops run through Mr. Kite’s veins: Nelson Sauvin and Citra. Crushed white grape and overripe pop tropical fruit, balanced by melon and citrus zest. The finest of the bines, from New Zealand to the Pacific Northwest.

Super hazy, golden coloured body with a raw honey glow and a thick, four centimetre tall slightly soapy white head Aroma of passionfruit, tropical hops, a bit of grass, some herbs and a relatively balanced malt nose and a touch of pure sugars - very nice and super tropical. Medium-bodied; Assertive tropical fruit flavours at first with a nice big bitter flavour from the fresh hops, along with some good malt backbone and a smooth, but strong sweetness, all from fruits. Aftertaste shows a good fruity quality, a nice balance of hops and malt, but more fresh hop notes than anything else and a smooth yeast and grassy quality. Overall, a nice fresh hop IPA with some smooth and pungent passionfruit and tropical fruity hop note throughout, all with a great balance and smooth sweetness. I sampled this thirty-two ounce growler fill purchased from Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 12-August-2017 for US$5,00 (best deal here in the area) sampled at home in Washington on 12-August-2017.
