Tinny marigold aroma, some banana esters and vegetal notes. Clear amber, medium head, good lace. Orange, maraschino cherry, grass, DMS, varnish. Medium body, easy carbonation, warm. Very complex, busy without cohesiveness.

Very clear, deep copper and bronze coloured body with a nice, vibrant orange tint and a fairly thin, single centimetre tall off-white and tan head. Aroma of pine, resin, honey, malts, toffee and caramelised sugars, candy and a touch of yeast - very sweet in the nose. Medium-bodied; Assertive medicinal and astringent flavours up front with a lot of pungency that doesn't really equate to a big malt package, but the deeper, bitter grainy and floral flavours are definitely noticeable, especially towards the end, with some hoppy notes definitely noticeable, but the astringency and alcohol bite is quite strong at the end. Aftertaste is deep and robust with flowers, grass, pine and especially sugars noticeable, without too much malt, which works well for this, as it's not cloying. Overall, a strong, but fairly straight-forward and efficient Imperial IPA that has a lot of sugars and hop bitterness, but isn't cloying or overly malty. Fairly good and still flavourful while being light on malt, but showing a tiny fruitiness, too. Good to sample fresh! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 12-September-2020 for US$4,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on 18-October-2020.
