Cask at Southampton Arms. Pours chocolate brown with a soon disappearing thin white head. Aroma is a bit chocolate malty with hints of coffee and a backbone of hops. Taste is similar, chocolate with a lingering mild bitterness. Thin to medium bodied and low to medium carbonation. Not bad.

Cask at the Old Coffee House, 25/02/14. Lightly hazed mahogony brown with a moderate tan cover. Nose is biscuit crumble, caramel, earthy hop tones, light pine, brown sugar. Taste comprises biscuit malt, earthy hops, light pine, tropical pangs, caramelised sugar. Medium bodied, a little flat, semi drying close laced with earthy hops. Decent enough hoppy brown, thinking the condition not so hot on this one which probably lost it a couple of marks.

Cask at the brewpub. Very dark brown. Lemony nose. Sweet with a flavour more reminiscent of lemony dishwater than enything else. Mid sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Mild yeasy sourness and slight bitterness Clear off and infected. Had this not been served at the brewpub I would not have rated it, but here the brewery should have had control over the beer al the time untikl it landed in my glass...

Cask @ William IV. Dark brown body with moderate off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, fruity hops and dark chocolate. Flavor is malt, caramel, chocolate and smooth bitterness. Medium body. Quite nice brown ale that I might get more used to (normally not to fond of the style).
