Poured from 375mL bottle (from the fiulijnator cellar; lot 2064; likely 2009 vintage). Clear auburn brown with no head. Herbal wood upfront with feint sherry vinegar notes underneath, mild prunes and toffee in the background. Touch of oxidation. Nice sipper.

Light brown, not much head. There’s some brown sugars on the nose, some almost mezcal-like smokiness, light nuttiness. Complex and unique. Soft, sweet, plummy, then the smoke kicks in, along with light bitterness, tannins…only maybe a touch of alcohol. Silky and balanced. Really interesting beer.

375ml bottle from at Alex's. Pours a hazy brown with no head. Aroma is smoky and fruity. Taste is very sweet and sour with smoky and some pomegranate notes. Very flat, almost no carbo in it. Despite how unique is this product, I am not a fan of it.

Bottle - Vintage 2009 - Toffee and smoky peat with woody notes. Cloudy brown. Sweet prune and woody notes. There is a light sourness and a bit of a thin body. Weirdly good and a bit tannic.

2009 vintage (I think). 375mL bottle, pours a murky dark brown with an amber tinge and a tiny beige head. Aroma is very complex, with lots of sherry-like oxidation upfront, followed by subdued red stone fruits, and a touch of earthy notes. Flavour is remarkably complex, with notes of dark red fruits, light tartness, and sherry oxidation. The tartness would ordinarily not be pleasant in the style, but it works here with the sherry oxidation. Tart, oxidized on the finish, but not in a detracting way. Complex and warming, with very light carbonation. Lovely.

Bottle, Theydon Bois Roma Pre-Nuptuals Tasting at Ma Che, 22/06/13. Thanks to Luca - Mortlach. Lightly hazed mahogony brown with no head. Nose is sugars, light smoke, Frazzles, malt, dark fruits, booze, toffee. Taste comprises dark toffee, sweet sugars, dates, dark fruits, demerara sugars, sweet sweet. Full bodied, no carbonation, booze in the finish. Ok suppable barley wine but a few notches away from a great. Overly sweet for my liking, the alcohol was pitched ok though.

375ml bottle shared by Travlr. Brown-amber. No head. Not much carbonation. Awesome. Completely unique, lots of sugary dark fruit. Never overwhelming on the palate despite the big ABV. Smoky schnaps alcohol laced aroma. Some tropical fruit. Subtle. A whole new creature of a beer.
