Cask at the Cleveland Arms, London. Pours clear gold with a light, white foam. Doughy malts throughout, some white sugar, mellow citrus, faint straw bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish with some light, dry hay and sugary dough. Basic, tasty.

Bottle. Nice frothy head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are sour brett, stable, malt, fruits, flowers and hops. Not sure brett is intentional but I like it.

Cask at the White Rock Hotel, Hastings. Straw with a thin white head; the aroma is grainy and faintly citrus - I’m not sure at this point whether this is a Golden Ale or a cask lager; quite thin in the mouth, but with an assertive flavour - some indistinct sour fruit and some strong grains, with a touch of honeyed sweetness; then a dry finish. Interesting, but I don’t think I’d venture beyond one of these.

Bottled (from Beers Of Europe). Golden colour, lively, big white head. Aroma is berries, some rather sour wooden notes as well as seabuckthorn. Flavour is sourish wood, some mild herbal notes as well as floral notes. Slightly infected, but in a good way.

Cask handpull at Brewer’s Arms, Lewes. Hazy gold, thin off white head. Decent hop, floral tangy citrus. Some yeast on aroma. Malts are quite juicy. Good floral hop finish which builds to a nettley citrus zing.

[Cask at GBBF 2004] A yellow beer with no head, and a really weird aroma, that I’d describe as that of fish. The flavor is sweet hoppy combined with notes of caramel.
