Poured from a 32 oz crowler. Aroma is malt forward with lots of toasted bread, caramel, toffee and nuts. Hints of raisin notes and faint alcohol. Light herbal, woody hop note. Pours dark brown, but not black, with a large, thick, pillowy, dark tan head that recedes rather slowly to a small film lingers. Moderate lacing and faint legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with lots of malt notes. Loads of caramel, toffee and toasted breads with lighter nuts and faint chocolate and roast notes. Hints of raisin and dates. Light alcohol spice and medium light bitterness with hints of woody hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer. Solid malt profile with some background hop notes. Very nice complexity in the malt character.
