Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is malt forward with toasted bread and nuts. Lighter biscuit, caramel and toffee notes. Light scotch and oak notes. Hint of alcohol. Pours brown with auburn hues and a medium sized, thick, creamy, tan head that recedes to a small film that lingers on the edges. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is malt forward with some toasted bread and nuts. Burnt sugar, toffee, caramel and biscuit round out the malt notes. Low bitterness. Some raisin, prune and date notes. Light oak and scotch notes with a hint of alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer, especially in the aroma but it's lacking something in the flavor. I think it needs a bit more depth to support the sweetness in the flavor.
