Poured from a 500 ml, 2017 vintage bottle. Aroma is very fruity with quite a bit of raspberry notes, but also some light hints of citrus and pineapple. Some light nectarine notes are present as well, but the raspberry dominates the aroma. Pours a hazy, bright, reddish pink with a large, frothy, pink head that recedes somewhat quickly as it falls into itself until a thin layer remains on the edges and persists for a bit. Flavor is somewhat acidic with a light sweetness to it; acidity is fairly soft with only a light sharpness to it. Moderate raspberry notes upfront with hints of citrus and light phenolics. Mid palate you start to pick up the stone fruit and the finish has light raspberry notes but also moderate nectarine character. Faint oak notes and a light vinous, tannic note. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high to high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, one of, if no,t the best beers from Phantom Carriage. The acidity is present, but not too sharp and the fruit has a nice depth and complexity to it. Hints of phenolics and oak compliment throughout.
