Our Kellertrübes 17er was ahead of its time when Glaabsbräu decided to keep beer fresh from the storage tank not only for the brewers. Maroon, strongly cloudy with a fine caramel smell, it is a surprise bag of contrasting nuances of taste. Nutty aromas meet green gooseberries, milk chocolate meets a mild bitterness. Innovative since 1744.

From the bottle. Amber. Frothy white head. Aroma is grains, caramel, mineral notes. Taste is better - sweet caramel. A bit of toast. Not much else. Medium. Soft carbonation.

Geruch süßlich-malzig. Sieht nicht wirklich trüb aus. Der Antrunk ist süßlich-leicht herb. Süffig. Frische Hopfennote. Der Hauptteil wird leicht herb-süffig-süßlich. Etwas flach. Malzig-hefig. Der Nachgeschmack ist malzig-leicht herb und muffig; lang anhaltend. --> Interessant komisch. (Test vom 22.8.2008) --> 12,7,11,6,12,8 - 8,60

Bottle courtesy of Matthias, as the 1 Dezember calendar bier! That’s a case of beer disguised as an Advent calendar, and you open a little cardboard door and get a different beer every day until Christmas. I guess they’re starting off small, because this one was very plain and unadventurous.

Bottled@One Pint Pub, Helsinki (old backlog). Amber colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel, grass, some herbs and earth cellar with some mild toasted notes. Flavour is quite similar, but also has some slight toffeeish notes. Quite mediocre for the style though.
