Can. A clear, golden beer with a white head. Sweetish and fruity aroma with a grainy touch. The flavor is pretty much the same, sweet, grainy and with a fruity touch. Sort of unpleasant and papery, medium body. Short finish with grains and fruits. A marketing jippo indeed. Not very pleasant and interesting, the fact that the beer was pulled from the marked due to the commercial description is the only thing that makes it interesting. 110319

Bottle @ Denmark/Norway Tasting @ Ulfborg 2011. Courtesy of Yngvar. Pours clear golden with a small off white head. Sweet butterscotch and grain. Thin, sweet and watery. Lots of corn.

0.5l can. This brew was not supposed to be the official brew for Oslo ski world championship 2011, but the Norwegian health department found this to be to alcohol advertising and banned it. Soooo, this illegal beer pours a clear pale golden body with a thin white quickly fading head. Aromas are some what malty and sweet, but nothing more. Tastes your standard grans lager: Thin malty with a sourish bitterness wrapped in a lively and fizzing carbonation bomb. Won't be missing this when it's gone.

500ml can from a Rema 1000 store in Tromsø. Clear, golden body, cold haze to the glassware. Fading white head. Smell of sweet wheat and ripe banana. Sweet-acid taste with wheat, banana and citric fruits with grainy malts beneath. Vague notes of vegetables. Dry on the swallow. One of the best from the brewery, which really does not say much. This beer has now been withdrawn from the shops – well, no wonder, its Norway (shared at home with frau Eva, 11.02.2011).

500 ml can, from REMA 1000. ABV is 4.7%. Will probably be retired tomorrow, due to "illegal alcohol advertising" on the can. That’s Nanny State Norway for you. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish and sugary aroma, some grassy notes too. Fizzy mouthfeel. Sweetish, sugary and boring flavour, very moderate bitterness. Won’t be missed.

500 ml can. Clear golden body with a dense and lasting white head. Aroma is moderate grainy, quite plain but kind of OK. Flavor is rather uninspired, some malt and just a hint of some kind of citric fruit. The little bitterness that’s detected feels metallic harsh. Medium body and short aftertaste. Drinkable and no real failure, but deadly boring. Could easily be one of several other beers from Grans and probably is, but I guess the world will never know. Just another tick in the beer book.
