Clear dark brown beer, small off white head. Light crisp palate. Mild dark malts, minerally with lactose sweetness. Finishes crisp, light and frothy. Nice porter - crisp and light and easy drinking and hides it abv well.

Bottle from the Westholme Stores, Goring on Thames, Oxon October 2011 consumed at Morris practice Monday 21 November 2011 No carbonation on pour, difficult to be precise on colour as this was poured into patterned plastic cups at Morris practice, though it had a light beige head and looked darkish brown through the snowflake patterns. Fruity with a chocolatey sweetness, little late tanginess and a slight bitter undercurrent, not bad. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Bottled. A red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a dry finish. The body is light and the beer is a bit boring.

330ml bottle bought at the Beer Ritz shop north of Leeds. Devil-black body with a deep, brownish tint. Initial good amount of a beige-brownish, bubbly head that dissipates after a while. Rather weak aroma of dark malts. Taste of dark malts, including chocolate, hints of liquorice and a bite of dark fruits. Lingering malt bitter tail. Easy to drink. Pleasant (my room at Bodington Hall, 14.07.2010).
