OIBF Collaboration Brew: For our collaborative brew with Buxton we decided to brew a Scotch Ale, but as our first collaboration with Buxton use plenty of US hops so it is more like an IPA. The base is what we thought would be appropriate for a Scotch Ale: some toasted and caramelized malts including Special B with gives raisiny flavor. To Enhance the dried fruit flavor we added figs and raisins in the hopback and picked hop varieties known for their dark fruit flavors.Bramling Cross and Pacific Gem in the kettle, Cascade and Mosaic in the hop back and Simcoe and Cascade as dryhops.

Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is rich malt, caramel, fruity and resinous hops, dark fruits, touch of figs, toffee, raisins. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Quite nice, rich malty with dried fruits and plenty of hoppy notes. Good!

Bottled@VastActiv&TBone hotel room, Helsinki. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is grassy, some grains, mild sweet malts and a bit leathery and spicy notes. Flavour is mild toasted notes, grassy, grainy, yeasty, mild leathery and some sweet malty notes.

Bottle. Brown color. Soft citric grassy hops in the aroma. Well hopped. Licorice, grass, citrus. Some dried fruit in the background. Lovely balance. Good.

bottle from limited edition 6-pack set. clear dark brown, small brown head. aroma is fruity, dried dark fruits, raisins, malts, reminds me of some candy flavored cough elixir i got once as a child. flavor is quite malty, very faint dried dark fruity, quite bitter hoppy balance, hops are not in your face, but give a flowery bitter background to the malts and fruits. This is in fact quite tasty and very well balanced, you'll never notice the 8% alc.

33 cl bottle @ home. Clear deep brown color with a reddish hue. Rather dense, somewhat rocky beige head. Aroma's: red fruit, sweet malts, a little bit earthy. Retronasal it's caramel malty, earthy hops, red fruit, some bitterness. Flavor is roasted/toast, light sweet, fruity. Medium bodied. High carbonation. Finish is quite dry, moderate bitter.

33cl Bottle from Vonk. Slightly hazy deep reddish amber-brown colour, off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, floral, resin, lavender, raisins and figs, caramel. Flavour is malty and fruity, dark fruits, figs, raisins, not very sweet, light fruity sourness, brown sugar, light resinous, bitter finish. Medium bodied, syrupy. Tasty.

33cl bottle. Euro Swap, thanks Maakun? Light brown color, thin white head. Aroma has nutty, bready aroma, hops, some caramel. Flavor has sweet fruits, apricots, hops, floral notes, nutty notes. Long finish. Tasty.
