8 3 8 3 16 Draft at Small Bar, Bristol. Black with a small short lived beige head. Aroma of fresh bourbon barrel, vanilla, boozy, oak, chocolate, toffee, coffee and licorice. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet. Medium to full bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation.

Keg at the Euston Tap, West Lodge, 03/08/17. Black with a decent tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is rich roast, liquorice, dark fruit rinds, mellow bourbon barrel, tar. Taste is roast malts, molasses, a touch harsh, chocolate, burnt sugar, bitter sweet fruits. Full bodied, oily feel, light rising boost in the close. Average for style ... lacks class and cohesion.

Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. Black with a thin bubbly head. Strong but palatable with low roasted malts because of this and a sticky-sweet texture.
